Important Notice: Fruitridge Swim Center will remain closed for Summer 2026 due to the Fruitridge Renovation and Expansion Project and will reopen in 2027.

Pool Rules & Regulations

Christine Thompson Aquatic Center

    1. Lifeguard instructions must be followed at all times.
    2. All patron behavior is subject to pool management approval.
    3. Failure to adhere to the listed rules and/or lifeguard direction will result in expulsion from the swim center.
    4. Patrons known or suspected to be afflicted with any disease, infection, open sore, or wearing bandages will be excluded from the pool.
    5. All patrons will take showers before entering the pool.
    6. Spouting water, spitting, blowing nose, or similar acts on deck or in the pool is prohibited.
    7. Only attire designed for water activity is allowed (swim/board shorts, swimsuits, and rash guards)
    8. Coast Guard approved Type II & III lifejackets are permitted. Lifejackets are available for day use.
    9. Toys are not permitted in the pool, except during supervised lessons. No inflatables.
    10. Pushing people into the pool is prohibited. 11. Running is prohibited.
    11. No diving allowed. Jump feet first in specified sections of the pool only. Each jump must be facing forward.
    12. No shoulder rides allowed. No wrestling or roughhousing allowed.
    13. The use of profanity is strictly prohibited.
    14. Smoking, vaping, the use of tobacco products, and alcohol is prohibited in the facility.
    15. Eating in the pool area is only allowed in the grass. No glass is permitted in the facility.
    16. All children who are not potty trained must wear a swim/water diaper.
    17. All children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older at the facility and in and out of the water. The child must never be more than an arm’s length away from their designated adult. Weak swimmers may be subject to this rule as well.
    18. Patrons may be given a swimming test to ensure their safety by a lifeguard or senior guard on duty. The lifeguard will determine the appropriate swimming area for the patron following the swimming test.

Diving Board Rules

Diving board rules only apply to Christine Thompson Aquatic Center

    1. No hanging on the diving board.
    2. No recreational swimming in the diving area, or swimming in front of the board.
    3. Only one bounce on the board.
    4. All dives must be straightforward. Diving off to the side is prohibited for your safety.
    5. Back dives, flips, twisting, and turning are prohibited for your safety.
    6. Only one person is allowed on either diving board at a time.
    7. Next person in line must wait for the previous person to reach the ladder or receive the okay signal from the lifeguard on duty before making their dive.
    8. Exit the diving area using the ladder closest to the board. For your safety, do not exit into the open swim area by swimming under the rope.
    9. Each swimmer must be able to swim the width of the pool in order to use the diving board. This is at lifeguard discretion.
    10. No T-shirts allowed.
Lap Swim

Lap swimming is a great low-impact workout that promotes cardiovascular fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Upon approval, parent/guardian must remain with their child. Must be able to swim 50 yards unassisted.

Lap Swim will return in March 2026!

Recreation Swim

Recreation Swim will return Memorial Day weekend starting May 23, 2026

  • 2 years old and older: $6
  • Under 2: Free

Fruitridge Swim Center
