Facility Information

The Florin East Grammar School is truly a historic gem! Set in the quaint community of Florin, this facility was the location of the historical Florin East Grammar School, which dates back to 1916. Today, the building is owned by the County of Sacramento, and is operated by Southgate Recreation & Park District under a lease agreement.

The Center is extremely versatile due to its number of rooms and outdoor areas. Ample windows throughout the center provide natural light and open visuals to the property’s beautiful, landscaped grounds. Polished wood floors elevate many of the facility’s spaces. When it was first built, the school was initially open to all children, but later served only the Asian community from 1921 to 1939. It was last used as a school in 1952. Over the years, the facility has housed a variety of uses, including Sacramento County Code Enforcement, Sacramento County Therapeutic Recreation Services and Elk Grove Unified School District’s Adult Education program.
